This Ukiyo-e project was for a office building in Madison WI. The print was composed from watercolors on parchment. The inspiration was of many Kitagawa Utamaro and other Japanese artist of his period who made Woodblock prints.
The original ukiyo-e painting is 24"x18" and hanging in my room staring at my sleeping cat hehki. <<click here.

Ever since the artist was young he was fascinated with Ukiyo-e.
The artist created these original ukiyo-e paintings for exhibits and various clients.

This Ukiyo-e project was for an assignment for a Japanese art class.
This depicts the ghost story of Okiku In The Well.
The hand is freeing her from the undeserved torment.
She was accused of breaking a plate and was tossed down a well after her unfair treatment. she could count to 9...please read more>>
